Profile of CAQ

Registered at the Ministry of Civil Affair (MCA) of People’s Republic of China (Registration No.: 3242), China Association for Quality (CAQ) was founded on August 31, 1979, is a non-profit organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and a national quality organization under the administration of the government department responsible for economy and quality. Mr. Chen Bang Zhu is the President, and Mr. Qi Wei Ming is the Secretary General and VP.

During the 30 years since foundation, CAQ has done numerous work with effective results on promoting total quality management, popularizing quality management knowledge, organizing QC circle activities, publicizing the advanced QMS standards including ISO9000, carrying out concerning consultation and certification, promoting customer satisfaction engineering, guiding enterprises to seek efficiency/quality-oriented development, introducing Performance Excellence Model to promote enterprises to pursue quality excellence business, spreading six sigma management, enhancing field management and improvement, conducting status-quo research on quality management, carrying out academic research and international exchange, and compiling and publishing quality magazines and books, which has won good comments from enterprises, the government and the society.

CAQ has 19 sub-associations in metallurgy, light industry, textile, petroleum, post and telecommunications, and science and technology etc., and 3000 corporate members including Baosteel, Haier, Lenovo, Shanghai Mitsubishi and Yibin Wuliangye. With CAQ’s advocating and support, quality associations have been established in different sectors and regions around China, forming a national quality association system.

CAQ has established close relationship with international and domestic quality organizations such as Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), European Organization for Quality (EOQ), American Society for Quality (ASQ), and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), as well as higher education institutions such as Tsinghua University and Renmin University of China. CAQ widely cooperates with those quality organizations and higher education institutions on quality research and promotion.
