We proudly announce that China Association for Quality (CAQ) will host the International Symposium on Quality Function Deployment (ISQFD) 2008 in Beijing from September 25 to 26, 2008. ISQFD is one of the most important quality events in the world and it is the first time for ISQFD to come to China.

The theme of the ISQFD 2008 is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Quality Competence. Under intense international competition, it has become the main concern of many organizations, companies, districts and countries to continuously find new approaches to enhance competitiveness, to improve customer satisfaction and to achieve competitive advantage. QFD, based on customer satisfaction, is a scientific method for systematization of product design, deployment and production. As an advanced technique and method for product design, an effective quality assurance technology for new product deployment and an integration method of systems engineering, QFD has attracted the attention of the world. There are many application cases of QFD in new product deployment, production, decision-making, logistics and supply chains, software engineering and service management, and the achievements of application are evident in goods and services today.

QFD is practiced actively in China. It is CAQ that founded the Association for Quality Function Deployment of China and held the first high-level symposium on QFD successfully in 2005. The ISQFD 2008 will exert a huge impact on global quality progress.

Yoji Akao, who is the founder of QFD and a world famous expert on quality management, committee members of International Council for Quality Function Deployment (ICQFD) and experts on QFD theory, study, and QFD application will attend to the symposium as honored guests.
