In 1978, the first QC group was born, and TQM was introduced into China.
On August 31, 1979, China Quality Control Association （CQCA）was established.
In March of 1982, the State Economic Commission established the "National Quality Management Award", and China Quality Control Association was responsible for its organization and implementation.
On March 19, 1985, the First Meeting of Quality Organizations was held，and the System of National Quality Associations was initially established.
On April 19, 1987, "The Basic Knowledge of TQM" television lecture was held.
On November 7, 1991, "The Levee of Life" Gala was held with the theme of promotion quality management.
On May 31, 1993, the Second Asian Quality and Reliability Conference was held.
On July 11, 1995, the 95 Quality Promotion Month was held jointly. The theme of the campaign was Quality, Famous Brand and Benefits.
In 1996, the National Customer Satisfaction Project was officially launched.
In 1997, China Quality Control Association hosted the ICQCC Conference - the International Convention on Quality Control Circles.
On November 3, 1998, the First Sino-US Quality Conference was held, with the theme of Quality Strategy in the New Century.
On September 5, 2001, "China Quality Control Association" officially changed its name to "China Association for Quality".
In 2001, the "National Quality Management Award" was formally established.
From October to December 2002, the First Competition on the Basic Knowledge of TQM was held.
On September 22, 2003, the First Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) Conference & the 17th Asian Quality Seminar & the First China Quality Academic Forum were hosted.
In January 2004, China Customer Satisfaction Index was officially put into practical use through the technical verification by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
On November 28, 2004, the First National Examination for Registered Six Sigma Black Belt was held.
On December 10, 2004, CAQ was awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Society Organizations" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
On April 7, 2005, The National Office of Science and Technology Awards approved the registration for "CAQ Quality and Technology Award".
On January 8, 2006, the results of the First China Excellent Quality Person Recommendation were announced.
On April 25, 2007, the First Forum of National Quality Culture Construction was held in Shenyang.
In 2007, CAQ again hosted the ICQCC Conference - the International Convention on Quality Control Circles.
On August 27-28, 2010, the First China Quality Academic and Innovation Forum was held in Beijing.
On September 2, 2010, the First China Industrial Products Quality Reputation Forum was hosted.
On December 8, 2010, the 2010 National Field Management Star Rating & Experience Exchange Conference was held in Nanjing.
On March 26, 2012, the National Quality Benchmarking Campaign was launched.
On December 11, 2012, the Central SOEs Quality Cooperation Network was established.
On November 15, 2013, the First Final Contest of National Brand Stories was held.
On May 16, 2014, the press conference on the Results of the 2013 National Survey regarding the Quality Management Status of Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises was held.
On October 14, 2014, China Quality Volunteer Campaign was launched.
On November 5, 2015, the Third Chinese Quality Forum was hosted.
On November 6, 2015, the CAQ Review Committee for the Standards of Social Organizations was established.
On December 17-18, 2015, The First National Lean Management Project Competition was held.
On April 10, 2016, the Blue Book on the Quality Management of China’s Manufacturing Enterprises (2016) was released.
On April 21, 2016, a series of public welfare activities named as China Quality Lectures started.
On May 12, 2016, the National Performance Excellence Model Promotion Committee was established.
On May 24, 2016, China Association for Quality and the Shingo Institute from the US signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the office building of CAQ in Beijing.
In May 2016, the China Quality Association and the European Foundation for Quality Management reached an agreement on strategic cooperation.
On July 21, 2016, the Q - SMART (Quality Tracing Code Platform) was launched.
In July of 2016, the TRIZ-fest 2016 was held in Beijing.
In September of 2016, the Children Products Quality Branch of CAQ was established.
On September 1, 2016, the First National Quality Innovation Competition was held.
On October 11, 2016, CAQ was rated as the 5A Organization among the Rating of National Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
On May 10, 2017, the CAQ Brand Branch was established.
On July 26, 2017, the First National Service Quality Summit Forum & the First National Quality Service Contest were held.
On November 29-30, 2017, the First Global Excellence Conference is to be hosted.
