The Quality Innovation Award—also known as the International Quality Innovation of the Year Competition—was initiated by the Finnish Quality Association in 2007. In 2016, its English name was updated to the Quality Innovation Award (QIA). In 2022, the QIA was organized under the leadership of the Roundtable Meeting’s Chair organization, represented by the China Association for Quality (CAQ).

The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) is one of the largest and most influential international conferences in the quality management field, known for broad industry coverage and strong community engagement, and is often referred to as the “Quality Olympics.” Since its first event in 1976, ICQCC has been successfully held 50 times.

The Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) was established in 2002, evolving from the Asian Quality Symposium (AQS) that began in 1987. In 2003, CAQ hosted the first ANQ Congress in Beijing.

The Quality Sustainability Award (QSA) was established in 2019 by the “Quality for the Planet” Think Tank of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ). It recognizes organizations that apply quality management principles, methods, and tools to develop sustainable solutions and products, reduce waste, and optimize resource use—achieving outstanding results aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and demonstrating excellence in both quality improvement and sustainable development.

The EFQM Global Award (formerly the European Quality Award) was established in 1992 by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Together with Japan’s Deming Prize and the U.S. Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, it is widely recognized as one of the world’s three major business excellence awards. It honors role-model organizations in performance excellence and organizational management. The assessment is based on internationally recognized excellence frameworks and standards, encouraging continuous performance improvement and management transformation.

The Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) is an autonomous, non-political, non-profit international science and technology organization composed of quality organizations from countries/regions across Asia and the Pacific Rim. APQO members include organizations from China, the United States, the Philippines, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and others. APQO’s origins date back to October 25, 1985. During the first APQO conference, 15 founding members signed the charter in Beijing, marking the formal establishment of APQO’s predecessor.

The World Alliance of Chinese Quality (WACQ) was jointly initiated in 2015 by the CAQ, CSQ, HKSQ, and SQI. It later expanded to include member organizations such as MQMA and THQA. The Alliance aims to build a global platform for exchange and cooperation among Chinese quality communities, mobilize professional strengths, explore a quality management system reflecting Chinese cultural characteristics, promote best-practice sharing and dissemination of projects, enhance the capability and international influence of Chinese quality management, and carry forward outstanding Chinese quality culture.
